Neuroscientist Cosimo Urgesi (University of Udine in Italy) studied people with different kinds of brain cancer. He gave them surveys to complete before and after surgery. People with gliomas in the posterior parietal cortex were more likely to report after surgery that they felt more connected to the world around them and were more likely to believe in extra sensory perception. People with gliomas in the anterior region of the cortex or meningiomas, did not report any similar changes after their surgery.
